Rafael dos Anjos stops Donald Cerrone in 1st roun
Francis Ngannou got his heavyweight tenure off to a good start with a win over fellow UFC rookie Luiz Henrique in the first bout of the day, before much of the crowd had arrived. But the defending lightweight champion has the gold, which likely will garner McGregor’s full attention. Besides dos Anjos’ powerful violence, moving up to fight the Lightweight Champ partially negates a natural advantage that McGregor has over his current division: size. “Wherever. I’m here to stay”. Dos Anjos showed a scary relentlessness and power when he trucked Donald Cerrone in a touch over a minute.

Cerrone managed to escape and get back to the center of the octagon, but the fight went to the ground and dos Anjos finished it with ground-and-pound before it was ruled a technical knockout. In his last five, the Brazilian has three knockouts and has evolved into one of the most risky strikers in all of MMA.
Dos Anjos, 31, is aware of the threats McGregor poses but believes he can see off new featherweight king and retain his title. “Stand up fighting is what I like to train. I’m here to say”.
So dos Anjos plans on getting even better? It extended Ferguson’s win streak to seven fights and could put him in the catbird seat as the 155-pound division awaits the return of Khabib Nurmagomedov. You know what the real fight – the real money fight – is: “Me”, Diaz said.
A powerful body kick, some punches and 66-seconds was all Rafael dos Anjos needed to stop fan-favorite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC Fight Night in Orlando – the fastest finish in Lightweight Title fight history.
With this win Overeem defeated the number-two ranked dos Santos and the former champion in spectacular fashion. With the potential of being the number-one contender to the heavyweight title, he should be able to negotiate that into an increased salary.
-Nate Diaz was the best version of himself last night. “Take advantage of it”.
A DURABLE UFC champion from Brazil with a black belt in BJJ and risky Muay Thai – as an opponent for Conor McGregor, it sounds like a familiar prospect.
Dos Anjos, meanwhile, wasn’t as profane as Diaz, but he still made his case.
Diaz, in a post-right interview, offered his X-rated take, translated by Bleacher Report and thoughtfully bleeped by the busy bleep-master at Fox. Karolina Kowalkiewicz was the highest-profile newcomer and faced Randa Markos during the prime-time network telecast, beating her via split decision.

The 27-year-old has stated he intends to spend Christmas resting in Ireland before making an announcement on his next opponent but he took to Twitter late Saturday night to give a characteristic response to being called out.
