The Gandhi scion said that instead of branding those who oppose the government or the Prime Minister in these categories, the government “would do better to reach out to people to understand what’s disturbing them”.

Voicing his support for Aamir, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: “BJP should stop silencing voices through abuses and threats”.
Reacting on the issue, Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said “Some people are misleading and some people are misled”.
Reminding actor Aamir Khan of his “Incredible India” campaign days, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that the former was free to express his opinion and added that India will love her people “Qayamat se Qayamat tak”.
The actor-producer’s candid remarks at an awards event in New Delhi on Monday set Twitter abuzz and left the film fraternity divided.
“When I go home and talk to Kiran (Aamir’s wife), for the first time she says, “Should we move out of India,”Khan said. So even in “Intolerant” times u need 2 spread Hope not Fear”. “She feels scared to open the newspapers every day”, said Aamir.
Meanwhile, the BJP took a dig at Kiran Rao’s suggestion to leave India, saying people move out for many reasons, including for saving taxes. So, do you agree with Aamir Khan or Shefali Vaidya? “The statement has not been made by Aamir Khan”. But, political parties seem to be taking the opportunity to make veiled attack on the opposition.
India is a very tolerant country.
Apart from them, quite a few Bollywood people have commented about Aamir’s statements and one among them was Ram Gopal Varma. You feel why this is happening, you feel low.
Anupam, who has been denying that intolerance, is on the rise in India, added, “Dear @aamir_khan”.
“His wife is Hindu, she has also felt it, that with this kind of uncultured and intolerant atmosphere, it looks like those who are fighting against this will have to leave the country”.
Aamir Khan speaking out on what he thinks is the growing tolerance in India has led to heated debates outside and even within the Bollywood industry.
