Raiders and Colts both left dejected after Oakland’s win

The quarterback was unable to get up and had to have his teammates and the trainers assist him to get off the field as he was unable to put any weight on his right leg. While Carr is out with a broken fibula, the Raiders still have some football left to play and they are built to make a run even with their star quarterback out. There is nothing to play for in their final two games.

At the other end of the standings, the Cleveland Browns avoided going down in infamy; they beat the Chargers 20-17 for their first victory of the season and will not join the 2008 Detroit Lions as the second team to finish 0-16.

Carr’s injury came on a play with 10:55 remaining in the game when he stepped up in the pocket to avoid the rush.

“My mentality was, even when I wasn’t active, keep preparing like I’m playing”, Washington said, per Raiders.com.

Despite getting the win, Oakland’s defense watched Luck and the Colts come back in the fourth quarter to make the game closer than it appeared.

“You work hard all year for opportunities like this, to be able to get to the dance and see what happens after that”, Colts running back Robert Turbin said. Carr will have surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, setting his timetable at 6-8 weeks. “There are no excuses”, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said. “I think he’s going to be down a little while”. Jimmy Graham had a 37-yard touchdown catch and Paul Richardson’s 5-yard TD with 1:06 left tied it. Steven Hauschka missed the extra point that could have given Seattle the lead, but it didn’t matter in the end.

One team has a playoff ticket in hand. “This time it was a field-goal fake”. In Carr, Oakland not only lost its franchise quarterback, but an MVP candidate who gave the team a legitimate shot to win its first Super Bowl since 1984 after securing a postseason berth for the first time since 2002.

Afterward, he was much more focused on the loss, which eliminated the 7-8 Colts from playoff contention, and on his own fumble.

Washington sustained wildcard playoff hopes with a 41-21 victory at Chicago.

“The interceptions were bad decisions”, he said.

Second-year inside linebacker Edwin Jackson and rookie safety T.J. Green led the team with seven tackles, and young defensive linemen T.Y. McGill and Zach Kerr added one sack each.
