Raiders continue to play it cautious with top pick Karl Joseph
“It was a late night – after the game we were up all night at the hospital and everything, and then a little sleep last night because of curfew, but not a whole lot”, the father of two young boys said. If he can provide this type of running as a reserve for the offense while also becoming an asset on special teams, we could be seeing the emergence of a really key role player. They’re both extremely heavy sweaters and they’ll lose eight pounds in a practice and as they fatigue, their technique goes to (expletive).

Carr marched the Raiders to a score in his second series, as Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 53-yard field goal, culminating a drive covering 29 yards in seven plays.
The next play was a short pass out of the backfield to DeAndre Washington that the fellow rookie took 32 yards downfield. Looking to fill that position without investing much, the Raiders have brought in several undrafted free agents, headlined by K.J. He was in for just 12 offensive snaps.
None of this will matter, of course, if Palmer is able to remain healthy during the regular season. The rookie from Michigan State completed 7 of 11 passes for 71 yards. Gabbert finished the game 4 for 10 for 63 yards and a touchdown.
-Head coach Jack Del Rio, a Raiders fan while growing up in Hayward, Calif., near the team’s headquarters, had fond recollections of quarterback Ken Stabler, who was inducted posthumously into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. “You have to have it”.
“I thought Troy had a heck of a game”, Arians said. He has it. He has the work ethic. “So just control what you can control, and that’s what I’m focused on from here on out”. That’s a theme for us with all of our guys.
“I’ve got a policy about discussing injuries this early in the year”, Del Rio said.
“He’s more patient, and the biggest thing is he’s more confident”, Reece said.
Another camp standout is cornerback David Amerson, who made a great interception of a McGloin pass intended for Clive Walford in a workout this week.
“Good and bad and ugly”, Arians said. I was just out there playing.
“You know, it takes time”. “I got them out quickly”. “I’m getting the playbook down and understanding how to do everything. Soon as you get an oppurtunity you need to let the coaches know you can make the squad”.
Carr’s No. 1 target is second-year receiver Amari Cooper, who caught 72 passes for 1,070 yards in his first professional season.
If it’s not enough to get him into roster consideration, it’s the type of play that looks great on a highlight film across the league.
“You can quicken feet; it’s hard to change deliveries”, Arians said. That’s not at all a concern this year, and we were reminded of this Friday. The team breaks camp after Tuesday’s practice. He’s certainly a cornerback to keep an eye on as preseason continues. Kickoff is at 5 p.m.at Lambeau Field.
Obviously, Derek Carr is far and away the starter on this team.
“My thing is, mentally staying sharp and staying critical of myself”. I put in work to make sure that expectation is met and when it’s not, it drives me nuts. It was against deep depth so we can’t get too excited, but he looked poised in the pocket, made good decisions and threw with accuracy.

Arians said the starters will get, at most, 16 to 18 plays against the Chargers. If DeAndre Washington can add that element then the Raiders just got a lot more unsafe with screens and passes to their running backs in 2016.
