Raiders Owner To Discuss Moving Team To Las Vegas

That stadium will be a topic of conversation at the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee meeting that Davis is scheduled to attend on Thursday.

Davis made the comments during a meeting of the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Good news? This particular lease just signed does have a change from the ones before; it includes not only 2016, but also includes two one-year options which would allow the silver and black to remain in Oakland until the 2018 season comes to a close. There were few pointed questions from committee members, and at one point Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman was gushing in her love and support for the team. “Majestic Realty and Ed Roski. are a serious, professionally run organization that knows the complexities surrounding the business of sports”, said Andy Dolich, a longtime sports executive who has followed the Raiders through various stadium proposals.

If San Diego does get a new stadium, the Raiders would have the option to move to Los Angeles. Pair one of the world’s richest men with a team eager to escape Oakland and, who knows, even the most hardcore National Football League owners might be persuaded to give this gambling city a try.

They are also asking to create the Clark County Stadium Authority, similar to the authority that oversees the Oakland Coliseum and Oracle Arena. In three years as a QB for the Oakland Raiders, Russell amassed 4,083 passing yards, 18 TDs and 23 INTs. “If Las Vegas can come through, we’ll be the Las Vegas Raiders”. The deadline could be extended until January 15, 2018, if a referendum for public financing in San Diego is not approved before November 15 of this year.

Even if the Raiders want to skip to Las Vegas, they’ll need approval from 24 of the 32 National Football League owners to do so.

The Rams declined to comment on the development. Gambling has kept the NFL and other major sports leagues out of Vegas until now, and Cole reports that several NFL owners, including Giants’ owner John Mara, want to keep it that way.

A move to Las Vegas is no longer a mirage for the Oakland Raiders.

So don’t worry, Raiders fans. The billionaire behind the Venetian casinos in Las Vegas and Macao, Adelson has faced off in court against former employees, the Las Vegas convention bureau, newspaper columnists and publishers, his own children, and Palestinian activists who say his promotion of Israeli foreign policy violates their rights.
