Raiders win OT thriller in Woodson’s home finale

Oakland Raiders’ Charles Woodson (24) celebrates their 23-20 win against the San Diego Chargers in overtime of their National Football League game at O.co Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015. Woodson leads the Raiders with five interceptions, but his impact on the team goes far beyond his play on the field.

He has denied the allegations, and sued Delhi Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal for calling him corrupt in the DDCA affair. When asked if he thinks he was suspended because Jaitley wanted him out, Azad responded in the affirmative.

The latest defeat by the San Diego Chargers was a microcosm of their down season.

On the ensuing possession, the Chargers marched 53 yards on 11 plays, and Lambo made a 45-yard field goal with under a minute left to force overtime. Oakland defensive end Benson Mayowa recovered the ball and rumbled 40 yards to the San Diego 3-yard line. When it was all said and done, the man they call “C-Wood” spoke about what it felt like to play not only in the final home game of his stellar career, but potentially in the last game in the East Bay. “Doesn’t make it any easier losing another one like that”.

“Let me hear it one time”, he shouted to the crowd.

“When we got the three points, coach (Jack) Del Rio came up to me and said, ‘Hey, the defense will take care of it. That was a game winning drive, ‘” Carr said.

Despite quarterback PHILIP RIVERS (31 of 49 for 277 yards, 1 touchdown pass and o picks) putting together a commendable outing, the Chargers passing game couldn’t consistently score through the air versus the Raiders 28th ranked pass defense.

When he tried to tackle a Raiders receiver in overtime, he was barely in the Oakland zip code.

Raiders defensive back Charles Woodson, the 39-year-old standout who announced his retirement earlier this week, played his last game in Oakland, whose fans saw the Raiders move to Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994 before returning.

San Diego’s Kendall Reyes intercepted a pass to set up a seven-play drive capped by Donald Brown’s one-yard touchdown run, but Oakland answered with Latavius Murray’s 22-yard touchdown run to equalize at 7-7.

NOTES: Chargers starting WR Stevie Johnson (hip) was inactive for the second consecutive game.

“We had an opportunity to win it, just didn’t finish it”, coach Mike McCoy said.

The Chargers built a 17-10 halftime lead, but Oakland sliced it to 17-12 when defensive end Denico Autry sacked Rivers in the end zone for a safety with 2:11 left in the third quarter.

This was the seventh straight division loss for the Chargers, who have fallen quite a ways in just a few years.

This granted the Chargers an automatic first down, and they initially appeared to capitalize with a touchdown as tight end Ladarius Green was awarded a 30-yard touchdown catch.

From there, Carr completed a lovely fade pass to Michael Crabtree for a touchdown, then a two-point conversion pass to Seth Roberts for an Oakland 20-17 lead.

The passing game felt the effects of a short week, as Amari Cooper didn’t play a third of the snaps because of a sore foot that has bothered him for weeks.
