Raiders win possible Oakland finale
What was Woodson’s final game in Oakland – and might have been the last for the Raiders as well – was far from pretty but it ended in a victory. He returned to the Raiders before the 2013 season. The St. Louis Rams are seeking to relocate in the Los Angeles area and build a stadium in Inglewood.

It is a shame the game wasn’t almost as good as the post game in what was likely Oakland Rainders DB and probably Hall-of-Famer Charles Woodson’s final home game. The safety announced Monday that he would retire after this season, his 18th in the NFL.
The Raiders took the opening kick in overtime and appeared ready to self-destruct, drawing three costly penalties. After back-t0-back Oakland penalties that put the Raiders in a second-and-29 situation at their own 20-yard line, Denzel Perryman was called for unnecessary roughness for hitting a defenseless receiver (Michael Crabtree). Oakland had 16 penalties for 121 yards Thursday.
Philip Rivers’ last pass fell incomplete near Charles Woodson’s feet and the celebration began.
The Raiders’ Latavius Murray enjoyed a strong match, including having 79 yards on 19 carries including a TD. He also scored on a 22-yard run.
It was another tough night for Carr, who had just 134 passing yards in regulation. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr completed only 23 of 38 passes for 204 yards, was sacked three times and had a passer rating of 72.7.
The Chargers roared back, quickly marching into Oakland territory. There were rumblings in the days leading up to this game against the San Diego Chargers that Woodson could play some offense.
Eyes got big: Benson Mayowa said he saw Malcolm Smith force a fumble by tight end David Johnson and saw the football fly into the air. That backed the Chargers to the 35 but Lambo made a 53-yard field goal.
Much later in the fourth quarter, the Chargers received a successful 45 yard field goal from Lambo.
Facing second-and-5 from Oakland’s 36, Carr tried to hit fullback Marcel Reece with a short pass, but defensive end Kendall Reyes deflected the ball at the line of scrimmage and made a diving interception. With 11:02 left in the first half the Chargers took a 14-7 lead.
With an uncertain future in Oakland and with it being Woodson’s final game, tonight couldn’t have been a better ending to 2015 as well as Woodson’s career than with a win over the Chargers that shows this franchise is back on the rise. Rivers went 4-for-4 for 35 yards on the drive.
On third-and-8 from the San Diego 43, Roberts reached out and caught a deflected pass for a 33-yard gain that helped set up the game-winning field goal by Janikowski.
“Though this is my last game in the Coliseum, just know I will never leave you”, Woodson told them, adding “Go Raiders!”

With the game tied 20-20 in overtime, Oakland ran a reverse pass play that gave Woodson the ball and the opportunity to pass but the throw was not open and Woodson had to scramble and ultimately lost three yards. Dontrelle Inman started in his place….
