Railing Collapse at Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa Concert Injures 42

The incident happened around 10 p.m.

Most of the injuries were broken bones, bumps and bruises, and one person was in a critical condition.

The two hip-hop stars were performing as part of their national “Merry Jane Presents Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa: The High Road Tour”, which includes an August 27 San Diego date at Sleep Train Amphitheatre. That stage was a few feet from the barrier that collapsed. The scene was described by one fan that said as soon as the rapper called for fans to come closer it was total chaos. It appears the railing failed where the support poles met a support wall.

Both men were ushered away as security moved in to help the injured, Colbridge said.

“[It] looked like a waterfall of people falling down”.

The 42 injured concert-goers were transported to several local hospitals, according to Camden County fire department and EMS officials. At least 20 people were taken to hospital.

Outside the venue, meanwhile, an emergency area was set up to treat people who had suffered injuries in the incident. Authorities say multiple people have been hurt after the railing collapsed during the concert.

Concert organizers said the show was about halfway through when the accident happened.

Dramatic footage, which went viral on social media, showed dozens of fans tumbling on top of one another when the gate suddenly gave way in the middle of the concert at the BB&T Pavilion. Some Live Nation employees were among the injured, the company said.
