Railing Collapses At Snoop Dogg Gig: 10 Hurt

The incident took place at around 10:30pm, when the stars had moved onto a secondary stage closer to the audience.

Hours after Camden’s BB&T Pavilion made headlines for the railing incident, the venue is expected to resume business.

Live Nation, which operates the venue, announced today that it had “secured” the impacted section of railing.

Salt N Pepa seemed to suggest, however, that the show would go on.

Most of the 42 injured had broken bones, bumps and bruises and one was critically injured, authorities said. One person remained hospitalized and dozens of other injured after the collapse.

A witness tells the news site that the rappers were yelling for the crowd to “stand up” when the collapse happened.

While the two rappers were performing, concertgoers were reportedly pressing on a railing that separates the lawn section from the inside seating area.

Suddenly, the first several rows of people fell forward, disappearing beneath the edge of the stage. It appears the railing failed where the support poles met a support wall.

Both performers were quickly ushered away by security as event staff rushed in to assist those injured.

Camden County officials said 10 to 15 people were hurt, with five taken to hospital.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

An emergency area was reportedly set up near to the venue’s auto park where injured people were seen on a stretchers and in cots. Authorities say multiple people have been hurt after the railing collapsed during the concert.
