Showers and storms will continue blossoming this afternoon and will be most numerous during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Best chance of a passing storm will come between 2:00 and 9:00 p.m… and some could be strong.
Expect a good chance of showers and storms both Monday and Tuesday. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid 90s with heat indices of 101 to 108.
At this time all indications are this will remain over the northeastern Gulf and mainly impact Florida and Alabama.
Rain returns Friday night and it might be heavy at times. There’s a 20 percent chance it will form into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours and a 30 percent chance it will form in the next five days.
The good news is that there is no sign of any nasty triple digit heat around here this month, which we all know can happen easily in August.
It is expected to be mostly sunny in the middle of next with with highs of 91 on Wednesday and 89 on Thursday, according to the NWS.
Showers and storms will be increasing next week on the coast.
There is one issue we will have to watch for next week, and that is the potential for some sort of tropical system trying to form over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.
