Rain delays Charlotte race to Sunday

It’s Joey Logano’s lucky day! After all pit stops were made, Logano retained the race lead.

Harvick, Newman, Hamlin and Logano were the four finalists in last year’s Championship Round race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“We were off in practice and I was really nervous about today’s race”, Truex said. “Logano’s the only one who’s going to sleep for the next two weeks”.

Kasey Kahne hit the wall on lap 58 and went behind the wall. Logano dominated the race, leading 227 of the 334 laps.

Tonight’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Charlotte Bank of America 500 race has a start time schedule of 7:00pm eastern time and airs on TV channel NBC. “I think that it was good that we could at least be on a level playing field with him today”. Next week the drivers head to Kansas and then the deciding race at Talladega before the next 4 drivers are cut from the final 8 heading into the Eliminator Round. Logano took over the lead of the race followed by Kyle Busch.

“It would help, though, if more than one of the fast race cars would go so at the same time”.

“It doesn’t change anything”, Harvick said.

Another Chase driver had a rough outing.

Matt Kenseth will start Sunday’s race from the pole.

It was a tough outing for Mat Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr. on Sunday. Jeff Gordon and Brad Keslowski finished eighth and ninth respectively.

But other Chase drivers weren’t so fortunate. The two made contact and Busch, who had one of the better cars of the early part of the race, finished 20th.

Logano never went to the middle or upper grooves because he didn’t need to. I went around the speedy dry where they laid it on the track and man I flew into the fence. He had only three wins before the 2014 season as he continues to blossom driving for Penske. He won the Daytona 500 back in February 2015.

Not even the presence of notorious “closer” Kevin Harvick could unsettle the 25-year-old as he cruised to his fourth win of the year and his 12th victory in 249 Cup races. Just can’t say enough about my guys – all the work that they put into these things. “But we are for a few reason”.

Kenseth brought out another caution on Lap 242 after hitting the wall, causing substantial damage to the right side; he took his vehicle to the garage for further evaluation.

“This makes Talladega way easier”, Logano acknowledged.

“If you can get it to drive like you want then you can perform well here, but it’s hard to get that feel”, Kenseth said.
