Rain hang around for much of the first weekend of June

By evening, we start losing the daytime heating and thus the shower chance slowly comes to an end. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

SUNDAY: Showers and storms remain possible but the chance lowers to about 50%. Most of our tornadoes are weak, compared to the ones in the plains, with winds of 70-90 miles per hour.

Temperatures on Saturday will reach a high near 81 with light and variable winds and drop to a low around 69 on Saturday night.

Some rain chances will linger into Monday as well. These showers and thunderstorms will have pockets of very heavy rain. Watch for patchy fog between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. with a high near 75.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible tonight into early Saturday morning s a cold front moves through the area, according to the weather service. Calm winds become southeast at 5 to 9 miles per hour in the morning. Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of a shower Sunday, high in the mid to high 80’s. It will remain muggy overnight with lows in the low 70s.

SPOTTY SPRINKLES: On Monday and Tuesday, we’ll have partly sunny skies for the first half of the day. The day will be mostly sunny with a high near 81, the weather service said, and a northwest wind of 5 to 10 miles per hour.
