Residents had a tough time in many residential areas like Kukatpally, Moosapet, Begumpet, Alwal Miyapur, Nizampet, Qutbullapur when storm water entered their homes.

Heavy rains in city since Tuesday night have thrown normal life out of gear as water entered low-lying areas creating huge traffic blocks at most of the important locations and junctions and forcing people to vacate their houses.
No casualties were reported during the deluge.
The Nizampet area was the worst effected as the flood water from Turka Cheruvu entered the cellars of nearly all apartment complexes. As the water has logged everywhere and the roads have also damaged severely. Additionally, water had stagnated at Surraram, Chintal, Venkateshwara Nagar, Sudarshan Nagar, Bhagatsingh Nagar and Maruti Nagar. This resulted in several colonies downstream being flooded. Rao asked officials to utilise the services of NDRF, police and in the worst scenario the army to evacuate people to safer places and take up relief operations. At Secretariat on the banks of Hussainsagar, the main road caved, causing another traffic situation.
In view of this, Reddy requested the NDRF Commandant to alert their contingent in Hyderabad and render possible help to the civil authority from tonight onwards till the heavy rains are receded. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is in Delhi to attend Apex Council meet, spoke to GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy and District Collectors over the severity of rainfall and measures to be taken in Hyderabad and other municipalities.
Official machinery rushed to the localities but there was nothing much they could do till the rains stopped by afternoon and water levels receeded.

Traffic slowly passed during heavy rain in Kolkata on Saturday. The GHMC is concerned about the slow outflow of only 2,500 cusecs, while the inflow is 5,000 cusecs.
