“We can change friends but not neighbours. I cannot say anything on that, but they did what they could”, he said.

Kashmiris burn a representation of an Indian flag as they chant slogans outside the Foreign Office in Islamabad, Pakistan, Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016. India has blamed Pakistan for stoking trouble in the valley where over 50 persons have been killed in almost a month of turmoil.

Pakistan hosted the Saarc meeting amid a bloody unrest in the Kashmir Valley in the wake of July 8 killing of militant commander Burhan Wani and resultant violence in which more than 50 people have died in clashes between security personnel and Kashmiri protesters. “We advocate for closer cooperation between India and Pakistan to deal with terrorist threats in both the countries”, US State Department spokesperson Mark Toner said during a daily briefing on Thursday.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday addressed the Rajya Sabha about the SAARC Home Ministers meet in Islamabad.

“Never before has the Home Minister been insulted like this”, Singhvi said.

“Keeping in mind the country’s prestige, I did what I should have done”. I also left then. “I didn’t go there for lunch”, he said amid appreciation from the treasury benches. Singh said that strongest action should be initiated not only against terrorists but also against organizations, individuals and nations supporting terror. “As far as blacking out of the speech is concerned, I am not aware of the protocol norms followed during previous events”.

According to sources, Rajnath Singh had a word with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone and he explained the misbehaviour of the Pakistan government and how his speech in front of SAARC nations was not telecast.

“I urged all members that terrorists should not be glorified nor should they be patronized”.

“It is important for nations who have not ratified Saarc conventions on mutual assistance”.

When asked how he responded to Nisar’s comments about Indian violation of human rights in Kashmir, Rajnath told the members of the parliament that “Pakistan is the biggest violator of human rights”, as reported by NDTV. I only hope and wish that the “soon’ would actually be soon”.
