This comes after the all party delegation returned from Kashmir without a breakthrough after the separatists refused to meet them.

The Chief Minister revealed that when V P Singh was the Prime Minister in nineties and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the Union Home Minister, the later had prevailed on Singh that he has an opportunity to rewrite the subcontinent’s history, if he can resolve the Kashmir issue.

“The government of India’s policy and response towards the Kashmir situation is fine, and a solution would definitely come out”.

The sources said the Centre is in favour of withdrawing these perks and facilities being granted to the separatists.

Visibly disappointed over the opposition leaders’ attempt to cut ice with separatist leaders, the Home Minister said he tweeted before arriving in Srinagar that “we are ready to talk to anyone who wants peace and normalcy in Kashmir”.

Yechury, who faced a snub from Geelani on September 4, said he had not given up on the mission to bring peace in Kashmir.

“Some members of the delegation went to meet Hurriyat leaders”.

“We are not in favour of the trifurcation but if the administration can’t control the situation and deliver, what choice are the Jammu people left with, and why should people of Ladakh and Jammu, who have always stood by the nation, suffer”, a part of the memorandum read. “Since yesterday, 1,000 shells have already reached Kashmir”, he added.

She also urged the separatist leadership to engage in negotiations to make peace a reality in the State and bring an end to the miseries of the people. They expressed their concerns over the situation in Kashmir and were of the opinion that the problems in the Valley should be resolved at the earliest.

Raza said the 60-odd Sufis from various khanqahs across India plan to take out a peace march in Kashmir with the Quran in one hand and the “Tiranga” (national tricolour) in the other, stressing that Sufism is the way forward in Kashmir.

The separatists for their part had asked “people like Rajnath Singh” not to give them lessons in democracy, and rejected the talks because they had no specific agenda.
