Rajnath Singh in Jammu and Kashmir, holds talks with political leaders
“We are sad about the situation in the Valley and that is why before coming here I had tweeted that I am ready to talk to anyone under humanity, democracy and Kashmiriyat”.

The home minister also expressed the government’s willingness to talk to separatists saying, “We are willing to talk to anyone within the scope of Kashmiriyat, Jamooriyat and Insaniyat”. “In the last two-three days there has been some headway”.
Demanding an immediate ban on the use of pellet guns in the Valley, Tyagi said the extremists should also stop throwing stones. “In 2010 it was being said that pellet guns were non-lethal weapons and cause least injuries”.
In response to another question, the Home Minister said there was no need for creating unnecessary controversy about deployment of the BSF in place of CRPF in the city.
Mirwaiz also raised the issue of the killing of a teenager by security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. It is the handful of people, who are also sponsored by foreign agencies, who are triggering this.
“Who are the people who allow them to take stones in their hands?” he asked. “Will they guarantee their future?” “We link the future of Kashmir with the India”.
The Home Minister said “India would be incomplete without Kashmir”.
He said security personnel had been told to exercise maximum restraint. So I appeal all brothers and sisters not to play with the future of Kashmiris.
A six-member delegation of the resident Sikh community discussed with the Union Home Minister the concerns of minorities in the state, a statement issued by PIB said this evening.
Surjewala took a jibe at the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the two parties which form the ruling alliance in Jammu and Kashmir. He appealed to those people, who are misleading the youths in Kashmir, not to play with the future of the children of the valley.
This comes hours after Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced in Srinagar that the Centre was open to sending an all-party delegation to Kashmir.
The 57-year-old Mehbooba was visibly irritated when a reporter asked her about her stand during the 2010 agitation and quoted her interviews in which she had questioned the then government led by Omar Abdullah for using force against children and the arrest of Hurriyat leaders. “How is the Government to be blamed for that”, she shot back.
“A nodal officer will soon be appointed for Kashmiris living in any part of the country”.
The Home Minister said that during his stay in Srinagar he met some 300 people, including leaders of all mainstream political parties in the state, with whom he had “good talks”.

“He is constantly in touch with me over the situation in Kashmir”.
