BJP MP Hukumdev Narayan Yadav said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s suggestion for a review of reservation was “ill- timed” and “agitated” backward castes and Dalits.
He said Shah’s statement that firecrackers would be burst in Pakistan if the BJP lost the Bihar polls also played a major role in the NDA’s defeat. Earlier, in many occasion Saamna has criticised BJP for having differences of opinion especially during the state polls in Maharashtra.
“The decisive victory of the grand alliance in Bihar is a clear message that the Nrendra Modi and Amit Shah brand of RSS politics is getting increasingly exposed”, the statement said.
“The party ought to analyse why backward castes voted solidly for the grand alliance”.
He also pointed to a substantial share of votes going to Independents and smaller parties as another reason for the defeat.
“We did clarify it later but people did not believe our clarification and the beneficiaries of reservation including OBCs and EBCs deserted us”, Manjhi said. Meanwhile, Lalu’s younger son Tejaswi Yadav criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked the people of Bihar for helping him and his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav emerge victorious in the election.
“The people of Bihar have said that the 15 years was not jungle raj but the rule of the poor”.
