Rajnath to brief Prime Minister on Kashmir
A civil society group in Jammu and Kashmir has written to President Pranab Mukherjee, seeking a “direct dialogue” with all stakeholders, including separatists, besides advocating repeal of laws like AFSPA and ban on use of pellet guns as confidence building measures for starting talks.

“Some members of the delegation went to meet Hurriyat leaders. We would speak with the stone-pelting youth, and would try to convince them in the light of Quran, Hadith and traditions of great Sufi saints to abandon violence”, Raza said.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister later in the day and is expected to submit the report of the delegation for further deliberation on the issue.
The state government has placed Chairman of moderate Hurriyat Conference faction Mirwaiz Umer Farooq under arrest at Chashme Shahi sub-jail, JKLF Chief Yaseen Malik at BSF camp in Humama while hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani continues to be under house arrest. All the parties agreed to this fact and emphasised that steps need to be taken to restore normalcy and peace in Kashmir at the earliest.
Before leaving for Srinagar today, Mr. Rajnath Singh had said that the delegation meant to talk to individuals and groups who want peace and normalcy in the Kashmir valley.
Rajnath Singh said the government had left its options open for talks with anyone within the ambit of “Kashmiriyat, jamhooriyat and insaniyat”.
Indian Home Minsiter said it had been made clear that those people set aside the three principles for which Kashmir is known. CM of J&K also thanked all the parties for visitng the state to listen to the problems of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Everybody in Kashmir wants peace and normalcy to return”.
Singh said discussions with delegations overall have been positive.
The way, separatists conducted themselves during the visit of parliamentary delegation to Srinagar, the government is planning to deal firmly with them and those who are fomenting trouble, with iron hands, claimed sources. Whether or not the separatists will be considered to be a part of the stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir was not mentioned.
The new chili-filled shells are said to severely irritate and temporarily immobilize their targets. “The government should announce avenues for employment generation in Kashmir”, he said.
FOIJ chief said that the situation is very serious as there has been no cash flow for the last two months which has led to non-payment of interest rates and installments to the banks resulting into more and more units turning non-performing assets (NPAs).

He said the all-party delegation has taken suggestions from the people who interacted with it for improvement of situation in Kashmir.
