Rajnikanth’s Kabali released: Fans welcome the movie by dancing, rituals and celebrations

After a record-breaking opening day with the collection of 21.5 crores, Kabali remained strong in Tamil Nadu and collected around 18 crores on Saturday. “Kabali” is being released in more than 12,000 screens across India, as well as in the United Kingdom and Malaysia, which has a sizeable Tamil-speaking population.

A PTI report said that the film had also released in UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, South Africa and Nigeria. The film also features Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Winston Chao, Kishore, Dinesh and Kalairasan in key roles. Because Sultan had already got what the producers of the movie had expected and they are damn satisfied by the collections and the reviews of Sultan.

Chennai, the capital city of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, buzzed with activity with men plastering life-size posters, depicting Rajinikanth’s character in the movie. Sixty-five-year-old Rajinikanth is one of India’s most popular star and counts millions of fans who speak the Tamil language and even those who don’t.

“It is easily the best opening for an Indian film from premiere shows in North America”.

“After the first three days, online sales have been phenomenal and the film is sold out in most cinemas”, said Ashish Saksena, COO, cinemas, BookMyShow.

#Kabali collects ₹ 5.20 cr nett [Hindi + Tamil + Telugu] on Friday in NORTH INDIA markets. Language does not seem to be a barrier as everyone is coming to see the film.

The trophy named SYNERGY Cup, was nearly half the height of the tallest trophy in the world which was recorded in the Guinness World Records in India in 2015. “The collection figure is awaited but I am assuming it has easily made Rs. 100 crore on the first day” said Thanu. Sridhar, an insurance company employee, came to watch the film in a group of 30 fans, all dressed in white T-shirts with Rajinikanth’s picture.
