Rajya Sabha adjourned briefly over Ram temple issue
“In the national executive meet of the BJP, a promise was made to build Ram temple on the lines of Gujarat’s Somnath temple by passing a law in parliament”.

The upper house, however, on Wednesday passed the Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts Bill, the Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Bill and Atomic Energy (Amendment) Bill without discussion.
Apparently miffed with the “cold attitude” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards the Ram Mandir issue, VHP leaders here said that the temple will be constructed by the “dharmacharyas” (holy men) and masses.
This comment came from Naik’s side right after, two trucks of stones arrived in Ayodhya on Sunday.
“A similar situation (to what prevailed earlier) is being created in Ayodhya once again. Tension is being incited”, Tyagi said.
Members of the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress too supported him.
“There should not be anything that is in contempt of the Supreme Court”.
The former Uttar Pradesh CM said it is the responsibility of the ruling party in the state to ensure that the SC directions are not violated.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi intervened on behalf of the government to say that stone carving for construction of the temple has been going at a site 1.5 km away from the disputed site since 1990.
The government and the BJP are of the view that the court decision on the dispute should be accepted, he said. Stone-carving does not mean that the temple was being built, he added.
Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien said there was no confusion after Naqvi’s statement that the government and party will go by the court verdict.
The speaker had to adjourn the house indefinitely.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die without transacting any business after Opposition protests over a comment by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. A slight movement by Mulayam Singh to forge a new alliance with the Opposition parties subsequently fell by the wayside before the Bihar elections, when the Samajwadi pulled out and announced its decision to contest the state polls on its own.

Kharge said the remarks which  ” do not have any national interest, they have only vested interest” were about the Congress party and had caused hurt. He also said that before the order gets confirmed nothing should be done.
