They took 11 of the Ducks’ 32 shots and erased deficits of 2-0 and 3-2.

This for a team that still ranks last in the Western Conference in scoring and is 8-10-4.

Captain Ryan Getzlaf tied a franchise record and personal best with five assists for the Ducks, who haven’t lost a regular-season game to Calgary at Honda Center since January 19, 2004. Perry’s goals came on the power play and accounted for two of Ryan Getzlaf’s five assists, giving the center nine points in his last five after managing five through his first 13.

“We didn’t quit”, Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. “We’ve got to find a way to build something where we’re finding a way to play the right way all time”. “Not all night, but we did a lot better job”.

Barring a constant string of wins leading up to the deadline I think it’s safe to say Jiri Hudler and Kris Russell, among others, will be moved.

The Ducks (8-10-4) started off a big week with a much-needed win, particularly of the comeback variety as Rakell and Perry delivered in the third period.

Defensemen Cam Fowler and Sami Vatanen had two assists apiece for the Ducks, who finished strong in the season’s first meeting between underachieving Pacific Division rivals. And to make matters worse, it’s starting to show that Anaheim’s decision to extend Ryan Kesler’s contract was an terrible idea.

John Gibson replaced starter Anton Khudobin 10:39 in to the game after Khudobin gave up goals to Michael Frolik and Sam Bennett on rebounds, Bennett’s goal a particularly egregious cookie kicked in right to him in the slot off a Mikael Backlund shot. Perry made no mistake one-on-one with Ramo, slamming the wrister between the legs for a 4-3 lead the Ducks would never relinquish. Rickard Rakell then tied the game up lifting the puck over the shoulder of Karri Ramo knotting things up at 2-2.

“Every night isn’t going to go that way, but we worked hard for our shots tonight”, Perry told the team’s official website. Anaheim scratched G Frederik Andersen, D Korbinian Holzer and C Chris Mueller, who was recalled from San Diego (AHL) earlier in the day….

“We have to be able to maintain stuff throughout a hockey game, where there’s going to be ups and downs, there’s going to be goals scored against”, Getzlaf said.

The Flames broke a 2-2 tie on Frolik’s second goal of the game and sixth of the season.
