Raleigh Makes Best Large Cities To Live
El Paso is rated between Jacksonville, Fla., and Phoenix in a new ranking of the best large cities in which to live. WalletHub spokeswoman Jill Gonzalez says they looked at 31 different metrics.

Based on these criteria, Austin ranked highest overall as the best big city.
Austin is followed by Raleigh, N.C.; Colorado Springs; San Jose, Calif.; Seattle, Wash.; San Diego, Calif., Denver, Colo.; San Francisco; Lexington, Ky.; and Virginia Beach, Va.
To paint the clearest image of America’s urban landscape today, WalletHub compared all cities in the U.S. with a population of more than 300,000 each, across four key dimensions.
A few other Texas cities were recognized in the scoring – Corpus Christi was ranked the No. 1 “Best City to Be a Driver” in, and Dallas was given spot No. 2 in “Best Job Markets”.

The rankings only applied to actual city boundaries and did not evaluate surrounding metro areas. “Big cities continue to grow considerably faster than in the previous decade and earlier”, according to a recent Brookings Institute analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.
