The recall of certain 2015 Jeep Cherokee SUVs is to replace air-conditioning lines that may have been installed close to the engines’ exhaust manifolds, posing a fire risk.
Fiat-Chrysler said it is not aware of any injuries or accidents linked to the recall.
FCA United States said Tuesday it is voluntarily recalling 75,364 Jeep Cherokees from the 2015 model year for a potential air-conditioning system issue that could lead to a fire hazard.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the rear axle shafts or rear axles, as necessary, for free. Customers who observe an ABS warning light, or any other item of concern, should contact their dealers.
Also, the company announced it’s recalling more than 88,000 Ram pickups, mainly in North America.
The recall is limited to certain 2015-2016 Ram 1500 pickups produced between mid-June and late September of this year. The rear axles on the affected trucks may have not undergone the proper heat-treatment procedure, which could result in increased wear and overheating.
Fiat Chrysler has found itself in trouble with USA safety authorities again.
GM, Nissan, and Fiat Chrysler have all issued recalls that could affect millions of vehicles. The company also is under investigation for failing to report a few deaths and injuries to the agency as required by law.
