Rams-49ers Was Lowest-Rated Monday Night Football Game Since 2008

With Jared Goff inactive and Case Keenum named the starter, Coach Jeff Fisher meant to slowly introduce Goff to the speed of a prime time game and observe the offense from the sidelines.

“I think that if they’re (eventually) 2-8, it’s going to be tough”, Dickerson said. And I’d have done the same thing Jared (Goff) been in too, I would let Case finish it. I wasn’t trusting myself and my abilities. That’s what the 49ers did, and with an offensive line that wasn’t able to win the battle of the line of scrimmage, the results were disastrous.

Chip Kelly guided the San Francisco 49ers to a dominant 28-0 win against the Los Angeles Rams Monday.

And now Keenum’s job status is increasingly tenuous after just one week.

And it actually didn’t bother me too much Chris Berman called the game for ESPN.

“We went out expecting the Rams to play better than they did”, Bowman said, “expecting the Rams to get the ball in their playmaker’s hands”.

Next week, the fans get to experience this atrocity at the old Los Angeles Coliseum, against the Seattle Seahawks. That is, until penalties and turnovers helped the Niners get a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to put the game out of reach.

In the end the Rams didn’t put up any real effort to make real plays.

On an utterly embarrassing night for the Rams, Keenum’s performance stood at the top of the list of issues that need to get fixed. “It’s for no other reason than just to get Sean some experience, but I just let Case finish it”. “That’s what I’m going to do”. That’s a word I’m going to use this whole week – trust. “Trust the guys out there”.

As the Rams showed Monday, without the benefit of an effective running game, their passing game is lost. Rob Boras called a bad game. “That will loosen it up on the outside, and we can take a couple of shots downfield and take that eighth man out of the box”.

Fisher said his defense played well enough to keep the team in the game and he isn’t necessarily wrong.

On Tuesday, the morning after the 49ers beat Fisher’s Rams 28-0, John Clayton mentioned the possibility of the Rams burying the news in a press release for a contract extension for defensive lineman Michael Brockers.

Todd Gurley also struggled to start his second season campaign on a strong note, being limited to only 47 yards at a 2.8 average yards per carry with no touchdowns. After what the team did in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, the fan base should be in an uproar.

Britt attributed numerous Rams’ problems to opening-night jitters.

The Rams have a big game next week at home against Seattle and they must play better in order to even have a shot at winning that game.

Quinn said he and Britt decided over the weekend to make the gesture, although neither communicated with Kaepernick. “You overthink stuff because you don’t want to miss stuff”.
