The Rams will get a chance to redeem themselves in front of their home fans, but it won’t be easy, as they’ll go up against the division rival Seattle Seahawks this Sunday. It’ll be interesting to see how long coach Jeff Fisher will put up with poor performances from Keenum before he turns to his 21-year old rookie quarterback. He threw a couple to Torrey [Smith], I mean to Quinton Patton on the out route where we had some big plays when we needed to get some things generated. “I wasn”t trusting myself and my abilities.”. On Monday Night Football, the Los Angeles Rams faced off against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in a game where the Rams set offensive football back 60 years. San Francisco 49ers won 28-0. Their official homecoming game against the Seattle Seahawks looms Sunday, and Keenum likely must improve sharply and quickly to persuade the Rams not to play No. 1 pick Jared Goff immediately. Especially in the first half of each game, as San Francisco only put up 14 points against a team who in the past, has been pretty weak defensively aside from having a talented core of defensive lineman.
“Everybody”s always overexcited when you come in to the first game,” receiver Kenny Britt said. Maybe if the team never scores, they’ll never give Fisher an extension and we’ll just never hear from him, Goff, or the team again.
Keenum believes the solution to the Rams’ problems centres on confidence – specifically his own.
Fisher said just about everything went wrong offensively against the 49ers.
“It was me overthinking it: “Maybe they were going to this because of this, this and this,”” he said. “That’s trust my protection, that’s trust my mechanics, my rules, my footwork, and trust what I see, trust the guys out there, get the ball into the hands of those guys that can make plays”.
The Rams need more production from Gurley, who rushed for only 47 yards in 17 carries, and receiver Tavon Austin, who caught four passes for 13 yards. Last season, the Seahawks allowed only 3.6 yards per rush (tied for third-best in the NFL) and allowed the NFL’s second-fewest passing yards.
“You can see the defense from a different angle and see the speed from the sideline,” he said, “but the best way to really know what”s going on out there is to be in it.”.
The results weren’t exactly a surprise after the Rams finished 32nd in the National Football League in total offence and passing offence last season, and then didn’t anything in the off-season beyond rookies Tyler Higbee, who started at tight end, and Goff.
Goff was inactive for the opener, and Fisher has said that he would not decide whether to make him the backup until later in the week.

Fisher saw several reasons for the Rams’ offensive struggles, largely centering on their inability to establish a running game.
