Rams down Bucs in possible St. Louis farewell
Despite a dominating fourth quarter, in which Tampa Bay outscored St. Louis 17-3, the 21-3 deficit they faced at halftime was too much to overcome in front of the incredibly excited hometown audience. Meanwhile Jameis Winston commenting on their team loss said, “The first half, I didn’t play good enough for us to win”.

Rookie running back Todd Gurley accounted for 48 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries. He was rewarded with a touchdown catch on the next play – his first score since 2012.
Though Tampa Bay totaled 509 yards, coach Lovie Smith didn’t see a lot to like.
The move would restore a professional football team to one of the country’s biggest markets but there was little enthusiasm for the plan at Edward Jones Dome, where fans chanted “keep the Rams” and held up signs protesting the potential relocation.
Austin capped off the Rams’ first series with a 17-yard touchdown reception after taking a quick screen from Keenum and picking up some key blocks downfield.
Now, maybe there will be some chicanery where the Rams move to LA and St. Louis gets something else, or maybe there will be a trade of sorts where Stan Kroenke owns a different franchise. The last match saw a huge crowd with 51,295 tickets distributed for the 66,000 dome capacity. If not for one hellacious effort by Winston attempting to recreate the comeback magic he became known for in his sophomore year at Florida State, this would have been the ugliest loss of the season since week one when Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans sliced and diced them all over Raymond James Stadium.
On the other side, Mike Evans logged nine receptions for 157 yards, but couldn’t get into the end zone.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins’ 9-yard scoring catch cut the deficit to eight with 1:34 to play, but the Rams’ Bryce Hager recovered the onside kick.
Greene, who played his high school ball in Granite City, played for the Los Angeles Rams.
Several stars from the 1999 Super Bowl championship team attended the game, including Orlando Pace, Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt, plus Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk from the NFL Network.
I’m heading to Memphis for a mini reunion with old friends from summer camp this weekend, and a couple of us chose to stop in St. Louis on the way to go to the Rams-Bucs game on Thursday night.
“We come pumped up every game, not just in case it might be our last game here”, Austin said. “They played a big part in helping us win this game”. Keenum and Kenny Britt would connect on a 60 yard bomb early in the first quarter, and would also connect with the likes of Jared Cook and Lance Kendricks.

After winning twice in five days, players earned the weekend off. Some of them are planning to visit wide receiver Stedman Bailey, recuperating in a Miami-area hospital after getting shot twice in the head last month. “The only thing I would say that Bennet has done is that he identified it in an American footballer”. Winston’s 20 touchdown passes on the season set a new franchise record for rookie quarterbacks. Buccaneers S Chris Conte (left knee) was injured on Austin’s second TD in the third quarter when he got tangled up with another defender.
