“We wish him the best moving forward”.

Cignetti has been on Fisher’s coaching staff since 2012 and was elevated to offensive coordinator in February after spending three seasons as quarterbacks coach.

Boras doesn’t figure to have considerably better luck unless the Rams find some way to upgrade on quarterbacks Nick Foles and Case Keenum in the next few weeks.

Under his guidance, the Rams have regressed significantly on the offensive side of the ball.

The offense has been especially ugly during the Rams’ current five-game losing streak. With the combination of significantly reduced practice time in today’s NFL and the prominence of pass-based spread offenses throughout college football, it’s hard to coach that system, which provides for the unpredictably poor performances that the Rams have delivered on offense throughout Fisher’s tenure.

For the season, St. Louis ranks 31st in the league with 296.3 yards and 15.8 points per game; only San Francisco has been worse.

Boras, 45, has spent most of his coaching career has a tight ends coach. Before coming to the Rams, Boras was with Jacksonville for two years as a tight ends coach, the same position he held with the Chicago Bears from 2004-09.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said on Sunday following his team’s 27-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals that he was “almost out of answers” when it comes to fixing their offensive struggles, just one day after this comment, Fisher announced that offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti has been fired.
