Rams not sure whether Bailey will be able to return
Stedman Bailey, the Rams wide receiver who was shot twice in the head, has gone through what he described as a “miracle” recovery, but may never play football again.

The 25-year-old player, who began serving a four-game suspension on November 9 for violating the National Football League’s substance-abuse policy, tweeted Friday night about his progress. Doctors had to put Bailey in a medically induced coma before operating on him in order to get the swelling in his brain to go down. From a health standpoint, there’s a chance that he doesn’t play.
However, there was some optimism from Fisher, as he added that “based on what he’s done [in terms of recovery] over the last 10 days, he may surprise everybody”. Thomas said Fisher did not elaborate.
ESPN.com’s Nick Wagoner logged what Fisher had to say about Bailey at Monday’s press conference: “Are you asking is there a potential that he doesn’t return to play?”

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey used his social media account to send a message giving thanks to supporters. He has amassed 843 yards on 59 catches through 38 games with eight starts. He also had a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown in 2014.
