There was only a smidgen of suspense Thursday night, with some wondering if the Rams might opt for North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz.

Not all the draft picks were celebrating on Thursday as University of MS offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil tumbled to the 13th overall pick.
CHICAGO – The Los Angeles Rams selected California quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 pick in the National Football League draft, and the No. 2 selection for the Philadelphia Eagles was North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz.
“It’s exciting a team believes in me that much to go up and get me”, Wentz said.
The Rams’ choice comes after the team, which is returning to Los Angeles this season following its relocation from St. Louis, traded two first-, two second- and two third-round picks to the Tennessee Titans to move from No. 15 to No. 1. Right before the draft began, a video of Tunsil smoking something out of a bong while wearing a gas mask was posted on his Twitter feed, before being taken down, along with his Twitter account. “Somehow, somebody got into my photos and hacked my Twitter account”. “We’re not going to subject them to fail, so whenever that is, you’re going to see him under center, but we’re not going to come out and Day 1 announce him as the starter”. Somehow, somebody got in my photos and hacked my Twitter account and somebody hacked my Instagram account, so it’s insane. “I can control what I control”.
Goff also invited his high school coach, Mazi Moayed. Goff represents the second time in recent years the Rams used the top pick to take a quarterback they hoped would revitalize the franchise. Then Chicago acquired the No. 9 pick in a trade with Tampa Bay, prompting chants of “Let’s go Bears!”
When his name was officially called as the No. 1 pick by the Los Angeles Rams by commissioner Roger Goodell, the team absolutely went bonkers.
Cornerback Eli Apple went the New York Giants at No. 10, putting three Buckeyes in the top 10 for the first time in school history.
Running back Todd Gurley, whom the Rams chose with the 10th pick a year ago, signed his rookie contract about 45 days after he was selected. Wentz said Favre was his favorite player to watch.The Baltimore Ravens with the 6th pick selected Notre Dame tackle Ronnie Stanley. But his dress shirt under his blue suit was in place by the time he was drafted by the Cowboys.
It’s hard to say if Pharoh Cooper of SC will make it past Day 2, but the Rams are likely hoping for it.
Perhaps defensive back Jalen Ramsey of Florida State, considered one of the best athletes and most NFL-ready players available.
Stanford offensive guard Joshua Garnett (28th, San Francisco 49ers) was the sixth offensive lineman to be selected in the first round.
LB Myles Jack, UCLA. For his career, he threw for 12,200 passing yards and 96 touchdowns. Like the Rams, Philadelphia traded up to the top of the queue to select a quarterback.
In most of the NFL Mock Draft, the Rams are expected to pick either California’s Jared Goff and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz.
Wentz led the Bison to their fifth consecutive FCS championship in January. He passed for 1,651 yards and 17 touchdowns during his senior year that was shortened by a wrist injury.

“If you’re a first-round quarterback, there’s going to be pressure regardless”, he said.
