Rams QB Case Keenum explains Week 1 issues: ‘I was seeing ghosts’

During an spot on 710 ESPN Seattle on Wednesday, the longtime ESPN reporter said the team planned to announce the deal as an addendum attached to a press release about defensive tackle Michael Brockers’s extension.

Now that the Rams have moved from St. Louis back to Los Angeles, a move from the 21st largest TV market to the second largest TV market in the country, the spotlight is even brighter and more pressure-packed.

Jeff is now in the final year of his contract, but he’s done nothing during his tenure with the Rams to warrant a contract extension.

Yep. That is what a 27-37-1 record with that franchise gets you. Is that because Case Keenum is limited?

The timing of this extension makes LA fans feel uneasy.

Sports Illustrated is reporting coach Jeff Fisher is in the final year of his current contract.

Another season without making the playoffs could lead to Fisher’s firing, so he has plenty of incentive to play the guys he believes can help the team win now.

Despite the atrocious play by Keenum and the offense, Fisher came out publicly and said that he will stay with Keenum as his starting quarterback. It’s only a matter of time before Goff takes over and supplants Keenum from the top spot on the depth chart. What reason could Jeff possibly have for not wanting to let his young quarterback play and learn on the fly? “I think he was basically forced to draft Jared Goff”. “I think they were gonna put at the bottom of the release that Jeff Fisher signed a 3-year extension”, Clayton said.

Now if your thinking that it’s a little weird that the Rams might be handing Fisher a significant contract extension just days after a blowout loss in their own division, then you’re not alone. Couple that with ongoing reports of disagreements with Rams’ front office regarding the draft decision of selecting quarterback Jared Goff, it seems odd that Kroenke would rush to extend his head coach’s contract. Fisher was with the Oilers/Titans for 17-seasons and managed to put together six winning seasons, including a trip to the Super Bowl in 1999-00.
