The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. last night, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at a Miami Gardens residence.

The Miami Gardens Police Department released a statement Wednesday morning saying they are investigating the shooting.

Bailey is now serving a 4-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

He attended high school at Carol City in Miramar, Fla., not far from Miami Gardens.

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has announced that Bailey underwent surgery for between four to six hours, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “We’re just waiting to get some more information on the specifics of the injury”, Fisher said.

Stedman Bailey is from the Miami area.

The Rams issued a statement that did not detail what happened to the receiver, but did say someone with the team has spoken to him.

Asked how tough it is to deal with a situation like this, Fisher said, “Well it’s very, very hard”.

Bailey was shot twice in the head, a family member told CBS Miami.

While the situation with Bailey is still at a very critical and serious point, it’s relieving to know that he was able to make it through his surgery well. He was in the auto with his two young children and a cousin.

Baily, 25, was a third-round pick in 2013 out of West Virginia.

“Keep our brother @iamSB3 in your thoughts, prayers tonight”. “I couldn’t believe it because he ain’t the type of guy who’s doing bad, you know, he’s only doing football”. He has 12 receptions for 182 yards and one touchdown in eight games this season.

“You hope it’s a rumor”, defensive end Chris Long said. Last season, Bailey served a two-game suspension for violating league policy on performance-enhancing drugs. He would have returned to the team’s active roster on December 7.
