Los Angeles Rams safety T.J. McDonald was reportedly arrested on Tuesday morning for a DUI. Instead, the gossip rag is reporting that medications were potentially involved.

After police arrived at the scene, they evaluated and arrested McDonald at 8:30 a.m. PT and booked him at about 3:40 p.m. for a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence-other. After being taken to a police station, officers determined McDonald was allegedly under the influence of a substance that could be a perscription drug or narcotic. The Rams selected him out of USC in the third round of the 2013 draft.

He was eventually arrested for DUI – not alcohol related.

In his three seasons playing professionally, McDonald has only appeared in 36 games, as he has dealt with various injuries and surgeries.

The Rams released a statement Tuesday night addressing the matter.

He has been participating in the Rams’ off-season training program in Oxnard.

The team brought in former Auburn receiver Duke Williams, who was dismissed from the Tigers last October following several off-field incidents, including a bar brawl.

The Rams will play their first preseason back in Los Angeles on August 13 against the Dallas Cowboys. Worton was also arrested in 2012 while at Central Florida for punching a police officer.
