Ramsey: This is a great moment for Welsh football

Even a defeat for the Welsh could see them qualify with a game to spare, provided Belgium fail to beat Andorra on Saturday. To be fair, that match wasn’t quite as bad as the scoreline suggests: a cagey first half gave way to chances at both ends in the second, though the goalkeepers invariably triumphed over the outfielders and the result was a scoreless draw.

Wales’ players celebrate after they qualified for Euro 2016 following their qualifying soccer match against Bosnia in Zenica October 10, 2015. “But I couldn’t. So I chose to do my own thing and it has been a fantastic campaign”, Coleman added.

Wales were drawn from the pot after Belgium passed up the opportunity to play Israel and they e ventually reached the quarter-final, losing 1-0 to Brazil as a 17-year-old Pele scored his first global goal. And wow, I can’t explain how it feels.

“But it is an absolute dream”. It was the first time we got a bit flustered defensively, but under the circumstances you can understand that.

Wales’ only other appearance at a major finals was in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden and their setback in Bosnia was best summed up by Wales skipper Gareth Bale.

As expected, all eyes will be on Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale, who is confirmed to be on the starting lineup for Coleman.

“This is right up there in my career”. It doesn’t stop here. We’re like brothers out the pitch and there’s so much togetherness in this squad.

“If we lose the ball we will fight for our teammate”.

‘It’s nice to be able to test ourselves in the biggest tournament in the world and we’ll do that’. “From the first game to tonight they have given me their all”, he told Sky Sports. “To achieve it is a dream come true, and now we want to go out and get ready for France”.

“It is something we have been working for since we started and fair credit to all the staff and all the fans it is a moment to enjoy”. “We’re going to go and try to make an impact. It won’t take time to sink in”.

“We all know how important Dzeko is, as a human being as well as he is a good footballer, but will we see”. “I’m naturally delighted to win the game”, said O’Neill, who refused to get carried away just yet.

Coleman, a former Fulham, Real Sociedad and Coventry boss, has endured a few dark days in the Wales job since taking over from Gary Speed following his predecessor’s suicide four years ago.
