Ranchi SSP injured, 2 killed in Naxalite attack in Jharkhand
According to officials, Kumar had specific inputs about a gathering of CPI (Maoist) cadres in Dulia forests of Khunti district near Ranchi border.

Ranchi: The district police chief of Ranchi was injured, while his driver and a Maoist were killed in an encounter with a group of insurgents on Tuesday on the outskirts of Jharkhand’s state capital.
Reports said that the encounter was being monitored by Khunti SSP following the injury of Prabhat Kumar.
He was admitted to Medica hospital in Ranchi and, according to doctors, was out of danger.
Maoist commander Chandan was also killed when the police team retaliated. “Two Maoists were also injured in the encounter”, he added.
On getting information that Maoists gathered near Dulmi village near Marang bazaar on the borders of Ranchi and Khunti, the SSP and Additional Superintendent of Police, rushed to the spot along with security men.

The deceased driver has been identified as Rumul Sevaiva, an official release said. The CM asked the authorities to ensure proper treatment of the injured policemen and announced ’10 lakh compensation money to the dependent of the martyred jawan alongwith free education to his kids. “I express my deep condolences to his bereaved family”, Singh said. Mr Das said it was not possible to get solutions to any problem through violence. They were later shifted to a private hospital in Ranchi for better treatment.
