On the other side, you have a young hippie girl, who is drawn towards this con man for no expectation and being insane apart from a student of law called Mira who is again a mad lover of this person. “We not only faced legal notices from Charles himself but bumped into so many individuals whom he had conned for money too”. From a police constable to his jail in-mates, Charles manages to manipulate anyone and everyone to facilitate breaking the jail. “Prawaal did most of the research before we started”, said Randeep.

The actor reminisced about the shoot in Goa, adding that it was a superb experience, but on the topic of his intimacy with Richa Chadda’s character, Randeep is quick to point out, “I am married to my work and have no plans to settle down”, admitting that he thinks he is charming, just not as charming as Charles Shobraj. And according to Randeep, if it weren’t for Amod, the film wouldn’t have seen the light of day. In the title, Main Aur Charles, the word “Main” stands for the character of Amod Kanth.
Spanning over a several decades, places and Sobhraj’s “multiple” personalities, the movie is not a dark retelling of a complex life.
