Randle, McFadden try to take over Murray’s spot

The Cowboys have several running backs to choose from this year, including Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle. “A lot of times they start there to get a good feel for them and then move right off”.

He figures to miss at least a week, which gives Randle a chance to get all the reps with the first-team offense and to show head coach Jason Garrett and everyone else he should be the next main back for the Cowboys.

It is worth noting that Randle and Murray had a little back-and-forth verbal tussle early in the offseason.

Randle was implying that he could have done more than Murray did if he was given the opportunity on the field.

“The best thing about it was the warm welcome I got – not only from Mr. (Jerry) Jones and the coaching staff but all of my teammates”, McClain said.

Bryant has recently received his new long-term deal with the Cowboys, but Murray had to find his new deal in Philadelphia. “Jerry may trust me more than he did five or six years ago just from experience, but nothing has changed with the level of our interaction and the decisions that we make around here”.

Steven Jackson let the Dallas Cowboys know that he’s available with a simple tweet aimed at their official Twitter account on Thursday (July 31). The team likely will use Randle as the top back with McFadden and Lance Dunbar next on the depth chart.

The Dallas Cowboys have arrived in Ventura County, coming to Oxnard to take advantage of cooler weather as they prepare for football season.

“I’m very disappointed about that, there’s no doubt”, McFadden said.

“We won’t be negotiating with him while he’s not here”, COO Stephen Jones said at Wednesday camp-opening press conference. “I think they made the best decision for their team and I made the best decision for my family”. “This year’s team is different from last year’s team, and we all have to understand that”. In 2015, Murray totaled 1,845 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, and 4.7 yards per carry average. I’m going to go through there one way or the other.
