Randy Gregory Suspended 4 Games

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory was suspended four games by the National Football League on Friday.

Gregory failed a drug test, testing positive for marijuana, at the NFL Combine last February, and the projected first-round pick fell all the way to No. 60 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

In his second year, Lawrence led the Cowboys with eight sacks and was by far their best pass rusher late in the season after troubled free agent pickup Greg Hardy faded following a strong start. So the need to tighten up the defensive line before the season has become another top priority for the Cowboys. He finished with zero sacks and he was partly impacted by an ankle injury.

Gregory is eligible to participate in all off-season and preseason practices and games according to a brief statement from the NFL.

Given Gregory’s limited playing time last season, his standing in the organization didn’t seem to be on steady ground before the suspension. In this upcoming draft there are two elite pass rushers, or will they snag two of the biggest commodities in Jalen Ramsey or Myles Jack? So if the Cowboys are banking on Bosa, they may have to trade up for him on draft day to be safe. Gregory was seen to have first-round potential, but his issues off the field with marijuana had many teams fearful to take a risk on him. “And I know it sounds cliché, but there’s really no one else I can blame”.
