Wolf has not pitched in the major leagues this year, spending the season in the minors and making 23 starts in Triple-A. He’ll start Saturday against Texas.

The Detroit Tigers acquired left-handed pitcher Randy Wolf from the Toronto Blue Jays today for cash considerations.
Heyman reported the Blue Jays had considered calling up but would honor his request if they chose not to.
Norris Wolf had been talking to the Jays about getting his release, to look for a team that might give him a shot in the majors. He is 2-2 with a 4.43 ERA overall.
Earlier Thursday, the Tigers placed starting pitchers Anibal Sanchez (right rotator cuff strain) and Daniel Norris (right oblique strain) on the 15-day disabled list.
Left-hander Matt Boyd, who made his major league debut on August. 5, will have his scheduled start pushed back to Sunday after throwing two-thirds of an inning in relief on Wednesday in Chicago.
The Tigers also purchased the contract of reliever Guido Knudson and recalled reliever Jose Valdez from Triple-A Toledo.
On the possibility of shutting Norris down for the rest of the season, Ausmus admitted there was a chance the Tigers would do so, “but we’re not gonna do that now”, he said.

“I don’t know if I’d use him in that role”, Ausmus said, “But, yes, he is”.
