Range Rover is taking a huge risk coming out with a Range Rover Evoque.

The new vehicle, which is the “first luxury compact convertible SUV”, will be officially unveiled to the public at the LA Auto Show later this week.

The challenge was carried out to celebrate 45 years of the Range Rover, with the six millionth model sold heading to China.

While drop-top SUVs and crossovers are a rarity these days, Range Rover does have expertise in this field and has drawn on this in developing the Evoque Convertible.

Created to maintain the masculine aesthetic of the hard-top version, even when its top is down, the roof folds flush into the rear bodywork for a clean, upper-crust look befitting one of Britain’s most esteemed automakers.

“We still have exciting products like the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover”. The 251-liter luggage space offers added practicality. The new Evoque will also have an all wheel drive drivetrain along with the highly acclaimed terrain response system. The press release revealed that a “roll-over protection system” is embedded inside the rear of the auto.

The fashions are Range Rover Evoque Pure, Range Rover Evoque SE, Range Rover Evoque HSE and Range Rover Evoque HSE Dynamic. As will the two embedded roll-over protection bars that will pop out at a millisecond’s notice if you happen to flip it.
