Rangers considering a shock move for Newcastle United star
Rangers were still awaiting the outcome of the injury Waghorn picked up against Hamilton at the weekend.

Rangers cruised into the last eight of the Scottish League Cup by thrashing Peterhead 5-0 at Ibrox.
‘We never had any doubts about is quality, ‘ Warburton said.
Waghorn will have a scan on his injury on the day of the match and manager Mark Warburton is refusing to speculate on the extent of the injury. “Things are looking good for all of us if we continue to train well”.
‘We’ll have a lot clearer picture, he’s more comfortable so hopefully it’s nothing more than a Grade One.
Armstrong enjoyed a superb season with the Sky Blues, finishing with 20 goals, and Tony Mowbray has confirmed he would love to re-sign the young striker again this term.
‘Not for us, ‘ Warburton added.
The Newcastle boss explained: “I will be very honest, we had a Championship team asking to take him on loan, and I think it could be good for him because he is a young player looking to prove himself in our team when we are trying to win every single game will be hard”.
After the game, some of the players took to Twitter to thank the supporters for their part in the victory. He’s a very talented player, I know how well he did at Coventry, but there’s no truth in that rumour.
“I told him: ‘OK, no problem, you will stay here and we’ll decide in two-to-three weeks and see where we are'”.
“Work is going on so I hope we will make some progress”.
“But when you can make changes on the hour we have great strength, great speed, great experience, great skill – everything you could want to call on”.
The Rangers manager lavished praise on his players for making short work of taking their place on tonight’s draw at Peterhead’s expense.
He said: “If I get the chance I will take it”. “We were more clinical in front of goal, got some rewards and created a lot more chances as well”.
“I was pleased all over the park”. I thought it was a job well done.

“It was great technique from Niko for the first”, said Warburton.
