Rangers ready to prove doubters wrong in showdown with Celtic
This weekend’s match will be the first league clash between the two clubs in four years following Rangers’ return to the top flight of Scottish football after working their way back up the divisions after financial problems saw them demoted to the bottom tier.

CELTIC “superfans” could be in line to win VIP travel packages to see their team play at home and overseas with the launch of a new initiative to reward supporters who demonstrate “outstanding support” for the club.
“Every derby is different”.
Rodgers said: “We are not running away to say that we don’t want to be the favourites for the game”. There’s a uniqueness to each one and this one is iconic throughout the world.
“This is a game which can hopefully bring the performance out of us because with the signings we have made, there is no doubt they have come here to play in this fixture, against their local rivals trying to win leagues and cups”.
It will be the first time Brendan Rodgers has experienced the intensity of the Glasgow derby – arguably the most vociferous match in Britain and one that he will be desperate to win to extend Celtic’s lead at the top of the SPFL.
Brendan Rodgers wants to see Celtic lay down an early marker in the title race when they face rivals Rangers on Saturday.
“I don’t think I’ve ever supported Celtic”, the midfielder said.
Speaking to the official Rangers website, Warburton said: “This is the first league encounter, last season’s semi-final had 50/50 in terms of fans but Saturday will be heavily weighted one way so it will be a different type of atmosphere and a different weight of expectation”.
“We can’t control things away from here, we just look at Rangers and things are getting better and we are in a good place”.
“But up until now I think he has done a very good job”. “It’s going to be a feisty atmosphere”.

“They are paid to give opinions, that’s what the game is all about, so you respect that”. We will still be going to Parkhead looking to dominate the ball, looking to create chances and score goals. “It’s about being consistent in the quality of your work and it’s no different in this industry as well”.
