Rangers rescue draw on Scottish Premier League return

Sarris insists he knows very little about Rangers, but will take on board what he’s told by Hamilton’s management, and says the Scottish Premiership is one of the best leagues in the world.

Hamilton manager Martin Canning praised his players for their diligence in claiming a well-deserved point.

Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Hamilton Academical as they made their return to the Scottish Pemiership at Ibrox.

‘Once we got the goal with half an hour to go you fancy us to go and push on but we lacked that little bit of quality, ‘ said Warburton. Warburton said: ‘We’ll see how he presents in the morning but we don’t know yet. It took the introduction of substitute Harry Forrester after the break for Rangers to find their range in front of goal, and he created the equaliser with a sweeping outside-of-the-foot pass.

“Whoever is going to come in they are going to be more than capable of stepping in and doing their best job for the team. If they are going to sit in, we need to be clever”. “Coming here was always going to be hard, so it’s good to take something from the game, especially in the manner that we’ve done it”.

Last term’s top scorer looked like he was ready to carry on where he left off when he drew the Ibrox side level against Hamilton.

Rangers have brought in Niko Kranjcar, who turns 32 next week, to join 33-year-old Joey Barton and Clint Hill (37) on Bosman deals.

“We will need to see how he is, but it looks like a hamstring injury”, the Englishman said. But we won’t sulk or feel sorry for ourselves: “we’ll try and put things right so that more often than not we’ll send the fans home happy”. He’s a goalscorer, you don’t want to lose anyone to injury.

“It was a real disappointment seeing him from my throw in down in the bottom corner hobbling off so let’s hope first and foremost it is not anything too serious, that it’s just minor and he’s back with us sooner rather than later”.
