Rangers sign ex-Kings center Jarret Stoll
The Rangers have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent forward Jarret Stoll, the team announced Monday.

Stoll, the boyfriend of Fox Sports sideline reporter and “Dancing with the Stars” host Erin Andrews, was charged with felony cocaine possession stemming from an arrest in Las Vegas on April 17.
His sentence included more than 30 hours of community service that had to be served within 120 days.
Stoll has 140 goals and 379 points in 792 regular-season games with the Oilers and Kings.
Stoll certainly will compete for a spot, and one of those will probably be his to lose.
But, more recently he has been in the news for negative reasons, as he was involved in a cocaine case earlier in the summer.
Prior to embarking on a successful professional career, the 6-foot-1 pivot was the first-overall selection of the Edmonton Ice at the 1997 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
“I know what kind of person I am”, he said.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder played in three Stanley Cup finals, and won two with the Kings, in 2011-12 and 2013-14. If Stoll plays well in the first few weeks, then look for him to stay up.

A Rangers spokesman said the deal is a standard players contract with no extra stipulations, and legally “there are no issues going forward”. It’s more than likely that he’s familiar with Malone’s story and Stoll could take that as a cautionary tale. Stoll, 33, carries a lifetime face-off percentage of 55.4 percent. In 93 career National Hockey League playoff games, Stoll has registered 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points, along with a plus-five rating and 68 penalty minutes. “But you want to be with a great group that means a lot to one another and has a chance to win a Stanley Cup”.
