“I’m not the only one”, Wenger said in his postgame news conference.

Arsenal defenders Laurent Koscielny and Rob Holding rejected suggestions Leicester City deserved a pair of penalties during the goalless Premier League draw at the King Power Stadium. “I want something done”. I don’t understand that.

“If I buy you tomorrow for £45m that means I’ve bought you for £45m, have I done well?”

“I just said I’d spend £300m if I find the player and I had £300m”.

“It’s not just about spending the money”.

“That is not a quality, buying a top player, that is different – and we are ready to do that”. I am very proud of my players because they fight so well. “It was a game where we had the chances and I think it was a game of intensity and quality”, he said. “You have to speak about money”.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Ranieri confirmed his pleasure at his side’s performance. “You should be happy”.

The 26-year-old has been tipped to be included in Sam Allardyce’s first national squad to face Slovakia in their opening World Cup qualifier next month.

‘I am a bit fed up to always respond to the same things.

“They [the fans] are highly influenced by the media, that’s part of the process today”. We look and analyse absolutely everything and we have to make the right decisions. “It’s as simple as that”.

That led Wenger to rush the Frenchman back into the starting lineup even though he opted to keep Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud on the bench, with all three having returned late after the European Championship.

For all Arsenal’s attacking play, again it was Leicester who may well have nicked it as substitute Ahmed Musa was sent tumbling by Bellerin in the 90th minute, and again Clattenburg refused to point to the spot despite the strong appeals.

However Leicester City coach Claudio Ranieri convinced him to stay, resisting four offers from West Brom. “For me, it’s okay”.

“It was a good performance. He didn’t whistle, so it wasn’t”.

Both teams remain winless after their opening two Premier League games, with champions Leicester frustrating the visitors for long spells on Saturday evening. But Ranieri was encouraged by what he saw against Arsenal. The result is good and we deserved a little more but it’s okay.
