Ranieri positive after draw

Leicester travel to Watford on Saturday and Ranieri plans to spend his time studying the Hornets rather than anxiously watching Spurs or third-placed Arsenal, who host Swansea.

They previously ground out a result against Norwich City over the weekend, fulfilling every title winning cliche in the process by winning when they aren’t particularly playing well.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has insisted that he is “very pleased” with his side’s performance despite seeing them drop two points at the hands of West Bromwich Albion this evening. Was a little unlucky but I’m more confident now than after the match against Norwich.

Watford have also won three of their last four home matches against Leicester (L1). We are alive and our spirit is ready to fight again. “Against West Brom I know we didn’t get the three points but in the second half we were all over them and created a lot of chances”. I like to [try to make it so] my players and myself, everybody can do our job, but with a smile – that is my philosophy.

“From the beginning, when something was wrong, I said “dilly-ding, dilly-dong, wake up” during training sessions”.

West Brom were asking questions themselves, though, and after Rondon had fired over from close range, Gardner left Schmeichel rooted to the spot with another free kick, although this one swerved narrowly off target.

“It’s not important to me what happens at Tottenham Arsenal, City or United – its important what happens with Leicester”.

“It’ll be a little bit like Forest, with Cloughie when he took them up in the 70s. I want you to remember where we start”. We should have kept the ball better tonight. “Why not? Be positive”.

However, they struck back with a fortuitous deflected shot from Danny Drinkwater and went ahead with a brilliantly-executed first league goal of the season for Andy King on the stroke of halftime.

West Brom, who have now lost only two of their past 10 league games, stay 13th – 12 points clear of the relegation zone. They play Stoke on the final day of the season, a fixture that at the beginning of the season probably looked like a nothing game, but now could have real significance on which English teams feature in Europe’s top competition next season. They play through the pitch quickly, they get the balls wide and they get bodies in the box.
