Raonic After Wimbledon Loss: This One’s Going To Sting
Andy Murray won his second Wimbledon title by beating Milos Raonic 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2) on Centre Court.

But things could change if Djokovic flops at next month’s US Open and season-ending World Tour Finals at the O2 – where he is champion – and Murray wins.
Britain’s Andy Murray kisses the winner’s trophy after his men’s singles final victory over Canada’s Milos Raonic on the last day of the 2016 Wimbledon Championships at The All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon, southwest London, on Sunday.
However, Hewitt has suggested that those defeats will have been a burden on Murray as he continued his search for major honours.
“There was no dancing for me and Serena Williams at the ball – I think the tradition had finished until Novak Djokovic wanted to do it previous year”, he told BBC Sport.
Andy Murray has set his sights on replacing his friend and rival Novak Djokovic as world number one, following his second Wimbledon men’s singles triumph.
“You kind of get dragged in all sorts of directions afterwards and I want to spend this time with my family and my closest friends, the people I work with, that’s who I want to be around, “Murray responded when asked on what he would do to celebrate his second title at Wimbledon”.
Murray has said repeatedly that if he was physically fine then he would play in the tie, but during the Wimbledon fortnight he lowered expectations. Murray won Wimbledon without having to face Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.
“We are a team and whether I’m playing or not I’ll always try to support”. “I know how much that hurt me, and I know how good it felt when I won a gold”.
“I’m just really proud that I managed to do it again after a lot of tough losses in the latter stages of the slams over the last couple of years. Like I said earlier, the guys that I’ve been playing against are the best three players of all time potentially”, Murray said. “I’m going to try to get myself back in this position, try to be better in this position”, he said, reported Reuters. I feel more content. I feel like this was more for myself, and my team.
At 6-1 down, there was no way back for Raonic – and when Murray clinched his third set point even the implacable Lendl was moved to applaud. Obviously it will be quite different to the Olympics when it was held here but I’ve loved being involved in the two Olympics that I’ve been at.
Murray described the last three months as the best period of his career while adding he hopes to claim many more victories in the coming future, Sport24 reported. Raonic saved one but Murray claimed victory was assured when the Canadian netted a return.

“From what I saw of his matches he had a pretty good opportunity to win this tournament without losing a set. I am not talking about the world rankings – because for now the gap is really big – but in the level of play”.
