Switching to rap, Reed introduces himself to his students, saying that he’s from Chicago, likes to eat pizza, and that even though he dresses to impress, he “still rocks sneakers”.

Dwayne Reed, 25, is preparing for his first year of teaching and chose to welcome his fourth graders and introduce himself with a rap song. Elementary education might be a corny theme for a hip hop track, but Reed’s rhymes are no joke.
And Reed does this all while he’s learning the ropes in his first classroom.
Nice work Mr. Reed!
Reed, a first year teacher, is a native of Chicago.

The whole thing is sweet and fun without crossing over into being embarrassing, which is a pretty big feat for a teacher filming a music video. “It’s simply a way for me to try to connect with my students”, Reed told Chicago’s NBC5. Now, the outside-the-box visual is going viral, having accumulated over 180,000 views on YouTube. Reed is getting a lot of attention for the video. “So then I just continued to pursue it, and here I am”, Reed said.
