Kid Cali, an artist affiliated with Washington Redskins Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson’s Jaccpot Records was shot and killed early Sunday morning at a pool party in Granada Hills, California. “We just heard gunshots, everybody instantly just ducked and everybody started running”, Dorthea DeVilla recalled. “Music is his life, that’s all he talked about”, she said. “I lost a really, really, really good person in my life and.it really hasn’t registered”.
The LAPD’S Valley Bureau Homicide detectives have asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the person or persons who shot and killed Lishey, 30, and wounded two others. The other two victims were listed in stable condition, according to officials.
The Los Angeles Fire Department transported Lishey to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. DeVilla described Lishey as someone who got along with everyone, and said she couldn’t fathom why anyone would shoot him. I can go all day and saying why this shouldn’t happen to you but gods plan was different. “Rapper Snoop Dogg paid tribute to Lishey on his Instagram, posting a photo of Lishey and writing, “@kidcali_oso rest well young g”.
Lishey was attending the pool party event that was promoted heavily on social media. The shooter fled on foot and has not been arrested, but police say they believe the case is “solvable”.
