Rasheed follows PTI, files reference against PM Nawaz

PTI delegation met with NA Speaker Ayyaz Sadiq under the leadership of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shireen Mazari, Munaza Hassan, Ali Mohammad, Arif Alvi and other PTI Members of National Assembly (MNAs) were part of the mission.

PTI files the reference at the National Assembly (NA) in accordance with Article 62, 63 of the constitution.

It further alleged that the prime minister and his family “established a huge business empire from 1980 to 1990 and established steels mills in Dubai and funds were transferred from Pakistan illegally”. It alleged that PM laundered money in 1993 to 1996 from difference accounts to the Bank of Oman, UAE to purchase Park Lane Apartments.

The submitted reference stated that as per Article 62, 63, Primer Minister Nawaz is no more trustworthy and eligible for premiership after Panama leaks disclosers.

PTI’s Vice Chairman and Deputy Parliamentary leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi while talking to media stated that Panama Paper’s disclosers had created tremble around the world.

He said that the media coverage was allowed when PML-N had filed the reference against his party leaders.

He said that the parliamentary party of PTI gave green signal regarding the filing of the acknowledgment.

A core committee of PTI last week had chose to file a disqualification reference against the PM in a tit for tat response to PML-N.

The letter also noted that the chief organiser Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Sardar Umar Farooq Khan, who is petitioner of reference on the party’s behalf, as well as the party’s legal team, waited outside the building of National Assembly for five hours repeatedly requesting secretary Speaker Office for arranging a meeting but failed. He added that all the opposition parties are agreed on Panama leaks.

Nawaz Sharif said WAPDA needed to work efficiently for the development of water and hydropower resources in the country. The speaker will decide whether both references of disqualification should be sent to ECP or not.

Panama Papers leaks have made key point in reference, Rasheed added.

Responding a question, he said that future strategy will be announced in the next party’s meeting.
