Rashford to start against Feyenoord – Mou

Jose Mourinho has named Eric Bailly as Manchester United’s best player in the 2-1 derby defeat to City on Saturday.

Ibrahimovic added that he will do all he can to support Rashford, insisting: “I’ll help him every day, him and all the others, in any way I can”.

“But overall, it is a big compliment for the performance, because I know how hard it is to come here and play as we did, especially in the first half”.

“He [Rashford] is mainly a No.??9 but, if you want to play him in different positions, we need to improve him. He gave us in the second-half what we needed but didn’t get from Micki or Jesse in the first-half”.

Martial does not fit that mould and therefore did not start, but Lingard and Mkhitaryan failed to perform and were substituted at half-time. If he invites me to do that I will accept, Guardiola said, according to the Guardian. So if you are asking me if they are going to play against Feyenoord, then no. We started the game with some players really below the normal level, in terms of their concentration and their mental ability to play a game of this speed.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been prolific if a little stodgy in his movement so far and Mourinho suggested he may even choose to play both strikers through the centre in future.

The pair were removed at half-time and the hosts looked much more risky with the introduction of Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford in their place.

Manchester United’s manager has been won over by his young charge’s personality.

“The season is just starting, we don’t lose, we learn”. Three or four times after he played with personality. “I’m the manager and it’s always my fault, because it’s my choice”.

“So you never know the way they are going to react”.

It was certainly the weakest performance from Pogba since returning to Old Trafford for a record transfer fee, although most of the players around him were quite bad as well, especially in the first half. We had a lot of things to do after the game.
